PopUpCop's Edit allow and block Lists dialog allows you to create lists of web sites for which annoyances are selectively enabled or disabled (blocked). In contrast to the pages in the PopUpCop Options dialog, which show lists for each behavior, this dialog shows all the sites for all behaviors. These lists override other settings currently in effect. For example, you may generally disallow annoyances, animated images or Script timers except those at your stockbroker's web site. ![]() Items in the list are displayed in a font or color which shows their current status:
The arrow-buttons, The Delete button grays the selected items in the list. The items are removed from the list when you press the Apply or Ok buttons. The Apply button applies your changes to the lists without exiting the dialog. After yo press this button, deleted items (shown in gray) will be deleted from the lists. The Revert button discards all changes that you have made since eiher opening the dialog or the last time that you pressed the to the state that the Apply button. The Ok button applies your changes to the lists, then exits the dialog. The Cancel button discards all changes that you have made since eiher opening the dialog or the last time that you pressed the to the state that the Apply button, then exits the dialog. To edit the pattern of the currently selected item, press the Change pattern... button. PopUpCop displays this dialog: ![]() PopUpCop helps you form the proper URL to enter in the Enter new page, server or domain dialog. When you click on New... then you see this dialog: ![]() This dialog allows you to type in the URL (web address) of site that you want to add to either list. The two buttons on the right, Make server and Make domain are URL helper tools. They allow you to take a complicated URL and quickly turn it into either a server address or a domain address. For example, if you copy a URL from your browser, such as, http://www.popupcop.com/help.html?version=2.5.0.01&src=PopUpCop and then you
paste this into the type-in field, clicking the buttons will simplify the URL and make it into a server or domain. Clicking
Make server gives www.popupcop.com and clicking Make domain gives *.popupcop.com. The
asterisk (*) tells PopUpCop to match any characters in the name. Thus, you can filter on similar domain
names, such as abcdserver.com and xyzserver.com, by entering *server.com.
