PopUpCop's Exit actions allow you to clean up unneeded files and saved history information.

Exit cookies and cache clearing

Web sites and advertisers love to track your browsing habits so that they can offer you "targeted" ads. They accomplish this tracking by storing information about you in small text files on your computer. These files, which are nicknamed "cookies", stay around on your computer until they "expire" on a date set by the Web site. These expiration dates are typically months to years in the future.

PopUpCop can help you stop this tracking by deleting these cookies when you exit Internet Explorer.

Even better, PopUpCop can also delete downloaded files, browsing history, and even its own log of blocked popups when you exit.

Exit settings allow PopUpCop to clean up after a web surfing session. When you close the last instance of Internet Explorer then PopUpCop will perform the actions listed below if you have this featured enabled. You can have PopUpCop automatically clean up, or you can have PopUpCop ask you when you quit the browser.

PopUpCop Options Exit

If you choose to have PopUpCop ask you what to do when you exit the browser, then you can also use Wait n seconds before answering No option to have PopUpCop automatically finish exiting after a count down of n seconds.

There are two categories of items that can be cleared on exit. Cache and history pertain to information that the browser usually saves and Log and statistics refers to items that PopUpCop maintains.

Cache and History

Delete Cookies
Lets you define exactly the sites that you want to keep cookies for. Enable the Delete cookies checkbox and then click on the Set cookie delete exceptions button to define the sites where you want to retain cookies.

PopUpCop Cookie Delete Exceptions

The first two options tell PopUpCop to work with Internet Explorer settings.

Dont delete cookies from trusted sites &
Dont delete cookies in Internet Explorers Allow Cookies From list

These options tell PopUpCop to keep all cookies from sites listed in Internet Explorers trusted site zones or that have been added to Internet Explorers Allow Cookies list. Since you have already defined these sites to be trusted, these options default to on. Generally, cookies from trusted sites are helpful.

The Dont delete cookies from these sites option allows you to specifically list sites that you want to keep cookies for. The Current cookies sites list (on the right) gives you a current list of sites that have deposited cookies on your computer. This is handy for selecting sites to add to the list of cookie keepers. Scroll through the list and select a cookie friendly site and then click the left arrow (Left Button) button to add it to the keep cookies list.

Alternatively, you can click the New button to type in the name of a cookie friendly site. This brings up the Page-Server-Domain name editor. Or you can click the Edit button to refine a URL to be more or less specific. Click OK to accept the cookie friendly site. Selecting a site from the list and clicking the Delete button removes the site from the cookie friendly list.
